Americans for the Arts

Americans for the Arts is a nonprofit organization whose primary focus is advocating for the arts in the United States. Colorado Creative Industries, Colorado’s state arts agency is a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Established to capitalize on the immense potential for our creative sector to enhance economic growth in Colorado, the mission of Colorado Creative Industries is to promote, support and expand the creative industries to drive Colorado’s economy, grow jobs and enhance our quality of life.

Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region

The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is “connecting residents and visitors with arts & culture to enrich the Pikes Peak region.” The Cultural Office takes a strategic view of the Pikes Peak region to ensure that cultural services reach all people and that the arts are used to positively address issues of economic development, education, tourism, regional branding and civic life. The arts are an ecosystem, and the Cultural Office strives to ensure that all parts of that ecosystem are healthy, thriving and fully integrated into the fabric of our community.

Fort Carson – Warrior Recovery Center

The Warrior Recovery Center (WRC) is the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Clinic located at Evans Army Community Hospital on Fort Carson. In addition to Neurology services, the WRC includes a full complement of rehabilitation services, to include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Behavioral Health, and the Creative Forces Music Therapy. The clinic addresses the symptoms of TBI through education, medication, individual treatment, and group programs for active duty service members on referral from their primary care provider.

Colorado Springs Health Foundation

The Colorado Springs Health Foundation’s mission is to provide grants that target immediate health care needs and encourage healthy living. When the citizens of Colorado Springs voted to lease Memorial Health System to the University of Colorado Health in 2012, they also decided to establish a foundation. This historic vote ensured that the proceeds of the lease would benefit the health and wellness of El Paso and Teller County residents for generations to come. The Colorado Springs Health Foundation was created to fulfill this responsibility. Each year, a percentage of the invested corpus is awarded in grants to qualified organizations focused on improving community health in El Paso and Teller Counties.

Arts in Society

Arts in Society is a collaborative grant-making program that fosters cross-sector work through the arts by supporting the integration of arts and culture into multiple disciplines critical to the health and well-being of Coloradans. The program, which is administered by RedLine Contemporary Art Center and funded through a cohort of Colorado foundations, provides grants ranging in size from $10,000-$35,000 to individuals and organizations who seek to implement projects that utilize the arts as an integral element in promoting social justice and community welfare.

El Pomar’s Anna Keesling Ackerman Fund 

The Anna Keesling Ackerman Fund seeks to continue the charitable intent of Mr. Jasper D. Ackerman, who supported numerous charitable organizations and causes throughout the Pikes Peak Region. The fund supports nonprofit organizations serving the Pikes Peak Region, with a specific focus on organizations working in arts and humanities, education, health, human services, and civic and community initiatives.

UCCS Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic 

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic (VHTC) serves as practicum and training site for the University’s doctoral students pursuing their PhD in Psychology, Trauma Track. It is a fully functional behavioral health clinic staffed with licensed clinicians and psychologists, all of whom are highly trained in treating trauma based disorders and have specific experience working with military and veteran populations. Additionally, part of the VHTC, Mind One, offers neuropsychological assessment and TBI screenings as well as resiliency-based approaches to treating TBI and PTSD.
