In order to participate in the MAC program, all Artist Facilitators have participated in a formal MAC training session. Training for individuals and organizations accepted into the MAC program was provided at no cost.

Training for Artist Facilitators was designed and delivered by the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic (VHTC). The VHTC serves as practicum and training site for the University’s doctoral students pursuing their PhD in Psychology, Trauma Track. It is a fully functional behavioral health clinic staffed with licensed clinicians and psychologists, all of whom are highly trained in treating trauma based disorders and have specific experience working with military and veteran populations. The curriculum includes a web-based component that leverages existing educational resources from the Creative Forces’ PsychArmor training module, as well as a half-day training session featuring subject matter experts from the military and mental healthcare sectors. All Artist Facilitators were required to complete a standard FBI background check prior to attending the training session. All MAC program Artist Facilitators are  Colorado artists based in El Paso and Teller Counties.

We are no longer accepting new artist facilitators for the MAC program. The training and application process is closed.
